Opened in January 1997, Tower Club Singapore is a subsidiary of City Developments Limited and has been established as the nation’s premier private business club. Situated on the 62nd to 64th penthouse floors of Republic Plaza in the heart of the central business district, the club offers a panoramic view of Singapore.
It has three restaurants, a bar and a wellness centre with gym facilities.
After 10 years of quality operations and in order to stay as premier, private business club, the club had decided to renovate all the restaurants and facilities this year. This has opened an opportunity for us to offer “Premium Products” to a “Premium Club”.
In April 2008, we started working closely with the Interior Designer for the entire upgrading project, James Park Associates (JPA).
The design intent called for glass panels (etched with traditional Chinese designs) bounding the atrium, and our minimalist handrail system blends in seamlessly, allowing the interior design to dominate the environment. The flawless tube bending is the work of Cheng Meng Furniture, the maincon for this upgrading project, whose team did the entire installation to HRC’s drawings, and to whom we supplied our handrail.
Diners can look forward to a rooftop restaurant overlooking Marina Bay at the new 50, Collyer Quay office building on the site of the former Overseas Union House. The 18-storey block is being developed at a cost of S$257 million by Clifford Development, a wholly owned subsidiary of Overseas Union Enterprise. Next to it, the Change Alley Aerial Plaza Tower, a 39m-tall tower that once housed the popular Red Lantern Restaurant, will be upgraded from September. In 2010, it will reopen with two Chinese eateries on the fourth and fifth levels.

On April 26th Carl F opened its doors to the Chinese market. Carl F’s new office and showroom is centrally located on Nanjing Dong Lu in a brand new building called HungYi Plaza. The combined office and showroom was designed by acclaimed interior designers Zerolab – a Shanghai based design company with roots in Hong Kong and California. The office which even contains a bar area is intended as creative area where sales people can interact with designers and architects and discuss design and product applications. We are very excited about the new high end approach to the market which combined with a stronger focus on branding should help to position us in the very competitive Chinese market. The Shanghai setup is a pilot and if successful it will be rolled out in other Asian cities.
The opening Party was a huge success – more than 300 people from the local design and construction community as well as our partners from Korea, Hong Kong, Singapore, India and Malaysia joined us in making it an unforgettable day and evening.
The afternoon was celebrated in traditional Chinese fashion with speeches, lion dancers and official cutting of the red ribbon by CEO Thomas Dalsgaard, Regional Director Jesper Halle and Country Manager Gitte Thiessen. As the darkness moved in, the party transformed into a more international affair with DJ’s, Wine, food and some of the hottest bartenders in town swinging the bottles. All participants were having a great time – some meeting old friends and catching up and some making new and interesting relationships!
“With the office finished and the opening a great success – we now have a super foundation for our future work”, says Jesper Halle – “but now the real work begins – we need to hire the best sales team in town, bring it together and create another Carl F / d line success here. The opening is merely the beginning – But a good one!”

A few days ago it was announced that Sanistål has taken over the total share capital in Carl F a/s.
At Carl F we see it as a very positive development and as a great potential in relation to the implementation of our strategies as well as to the synergies, which may result from this new partnership. It is quite clear that Sanistål and Carl F fit well together relative to our activities. It is probably the best match we could get and it will be instrumental in strengthening Carl F as well as Sanistål in future.
The take-over will bring a lare number of future advantages. We will see much more traffic in our shops as we over time will incorporate parts of Sanistål's range of products in addition to our own and vice versa. This will bring about a much bigger geographical coverage with our total product range to the benefit of our associates through out the country.
This take-over adds a new business area to Sanistål where it is not active today. The build-ing divisions of Carl F and Sanistål will jointly be the strongest supplier in Denmark to the building industry.
In future Carl F a/s is a subsidiary in the Sanistål group and will legally as well as in practice continue as it is today. It is business as usual and all business relations continue just like be-fore. In terms of management there will be no
